HoneyBook vs. Dubsado - Which CRM Works Best for Your Business?

HoneyBook and Dubsado are both powerful client management platforms designed to streamline your business operations and elevate the client experience. As a solopreneur or small business owner, choosing the right platform can free up your time and resources to focus on what you do best. While both platforms share similarities, understanding their key differences is crucial in determining which one is the perfect fit for your unique needs.

What is Honeybook?

HoneyBook is an all-in-one client management platform for independent businesses and freelancers. It allows solopreneurs and small businesses to easily manage tasks ranging from contracts and invoicing to scheduling and payment. HoneyBook also integrates with other tech tools, like Zapier and Microsoft Office to streamline workflows.

What is Dubsado?

Dubsado is also a business automation tool designed specifically for small businesses and freelancers. Dubsado offers a suite of tools that cover everything from lead capture and proposals to contracts, invoicing, project management, and client communication.

And while Honeybook and Dubsado are similar, there are a few key differences.

Honeybook vs. Dubsado: Which is right for you?

Honeybook and Dubsado are both excellent tools that help businesses simplify day-to-day tasks. Comparing the two isn’t necessarily a question of which is better. It’s about understanding which is best for your unique business needs.

Here’s a breakdown of some key differences.

Price

Both HoneyBook and Dubsado have tiered plans. Dubsado is free for up to three clients. From there, it’s either $20 or $40 per month. Each plan has additional fees for adding brands and team members.

Dubsado’s free features are great if you’re not sure whether you need a CRM. Trying it out for a few clients is helpful for testing the waters and finding out firsthand how much time you’ll actually save by adopting a CRM tool.

HoneyBook has a free 7-day trial, and its starter plan is $19 per month. But if you want to integrate the tool with other apps, like Zapier, you’ll need to upgrade to the next tier, which is $40 a month. Owners with multiple brands will need to upgrade to the Premium plan at $79 per month.

Interface

Honeybook is known for its sleek interface and intuitive design. For those who aren’t necessarily tech-savvy, Honeybook is likely easier to use. Plus Honeybook has ready-made templates for contracts, proposals, invoices, and more, making it much easier to manage those tasks than starting from scratch with Adobe or Canva.

Dubsado is not as intuitive as HoneyBook and definitely takes some practice to master. However, for those who love their tech tools with a lot of features, Dubsado offers much more opportunity for customization than HoneyBook.

Integrations

HoneyBook integrates with most popular apps for automating workflows. But if you use niche apps, you might have better luck with Dubsado, which provides more integrations.

However, HoneyBook’s deep integration with Gmail is ideal for those who primarily rely on Google tools for business. You can easily manage projects via the Chrome extension. Dubsado doesn’t provide that capability, meaning you’ll have to manage projects through the Dubsado web app.

Features

Both platforms have features that make managing daily business tasks much easier. For example, both offer payment processing options through the platform, though Dubsado’s processing, powered by Stripe, doesn’t have any additional fees.

One advantage Honeybook has over Dubsado is the fact that it has a mobile app, while Dubsado promises its mobile app is “coming soon,” according to the company website

However, many users find Dubsado to be much more customizable, which can be great for growth at scale since Dubsado can be more easily tailored to fit your changing needs.

Users

While it’s not always the case, HoneyBook is often favored by creatives, like photographers, event planners, and designers who prioritize an easy-to-use interface and built-in features.

Dubsado is more likely the choice of service-based businesses that value customization, flexibility, and a wider range of integrations.

How do I choose between Honeybook and Dubsado?

Understanding which CRM platform is right for your business takes an in-depth understanding of your day-to-day operations, the challenges your business faces, and a plan for future growth.
